The city of Bridgeport and other corporate sponsors are teaming up to keep Bridgeport kids safe! This summer, there will be 1,000 bicycle helmets donated to the “Heads Up For Safety” program, founded by Trantolo & Trantolo with Safe Kids Connecticut and the Bridgeport Police Department. Bridgeport kids who are seen without proper head protection will be given a free bicycle helmet with the “Heads Up For Safety” decal and key stakeholder logos, as well as tickets to a Bridgeport Sound Tigers game!
“Heads Up For Safety” Kickoff
The program was officially launched on Tuesday, May 15th, with remarks from Bridgeport Mayor Joe Ganim, Attorney Vincent Trantolo and Scott Trantolo, the Chief Operating Officer of Trantolo & Trantolo, LLC, CT’s personal injury law firm.
Following the program’s introduction, the Office of the Mayor hosted a “Heads Up For Safety Trike Race” featuring Bridgeport Police Department Chief Armando J. “AJ” Perez, Bridgeport Fire Department Chief Richard Thode, Bridgeport Sound Tigers Assistant Coach Matt Carkner, St. Vincent’s Medical Center Chairperson of Surgical Services Dr. Anthy Demestihas and Mayor Ganim.
Working together we are hopeful of distributing and fitting more than 1,000 free bike helmets to Bridgeport kids and hopefully we can start cutting down the number of youth bike injuries occurring in Bridgeport – Keith Trantolo of Trantolo & Trantolo.
